Today the fastest developing water treatment technology. Osmosis is an event of balancing ion concentrations of two solutions with different ion concentrations and a semipermeable membrane. Applying a backpressure to this osmotic pressure phenomenon reverses the natural osmosis event, and therefore the process is called reverse osmosis.
